Irina Shayk, star of the Spring Summer 2017 campaign, sits down to talk her career, charity, and Bally in an exclusive interview.
Irina Shayk is no stranger to the spotlight. A supermodel and actress, Irina's talent knows no bounds - appearing in fashion editorials and campaigns lensed by some of the industry's most talented photographers, as well as starring in movies and television shows around the world, are only some of her many accomplishments. Here, Irina speaks to Bally about her career, her favourite ways to wind down, and - of course - Bally Spring Summer 2017.
Your amazing modelling and acting career takes you around the world, what are the secrets to staying healthy when you’re always on the move?
There is really no secret, you just have to live a healthy lifestyle. I get 8 hours of sleep which is a must as I love sleep. Drink plenty of water wear sunscreen and eat healthy... most of the time.
What books, movies and activities do you use to escape when you have some down time when travelling, on a shoot, or even at home?
I like the classics like Pushkin and Dostoevsky for books if I need to wind down at night. For shoots I always try and get to know the team rather than be buried in my phone or iPad. When I need a real escape though I watch some Netflix or Scandal, my favourite show.
You have over 7 million followers on Instagram – but which Instagram accounts do you love following?
I think social media is a great way to keep track of your friends and stay in contact with everyone. So I follow my friends and different fashion houses like Bally, Riccardo Tisci, Stella Maxwell, Linda Evangelista to name a few...and Elliot Tebele for a laugh!
You work with Russian charity Pomogi, which provides care to sick children – what motivated you to support such an amazing cause?
I came from humble beginnings and always wanted to use this career to support those less fortunate. Every child deserves a chance, especially those who don't have the financial means for proper treatment.
What character did you channel or take inspiration from for the Bally Spring Summer 2017 campaign?
I always speak with the photographer, designer, stylist and team to get a vibe of what we are trying to accomplish. Being a model you need to adapt and find a way to relay that in the photos. For Bally it was easy as it's every strong, confident, stylish woman.
What three words would you use to describe the Bally Spring Summer 2017 collection?Minimal. Groomed. Chic
