Bally Spring Summer 2019

The open road beckons once more - Bally Spring Summer 2019 is an adventure inspired by the road trips of pioneer colour photographers Joel Sternfeld and Stephen Shore, and pays homage to the warm glow of a Californian sunset. Bally's carefree wanderlust yearns to discover a place disconnected from today's hyper-connected world, escaping to Bally's roots in Schonenwerd, Switzerland, and drawing further inspiration from the archive as it revisits familiar names and motifs across the collection.

SS19 WOMEN

Woman

Unfussy and insouciant, the Bally Woman is an avid wanderer creating memories with pieces collected along the journey which make up her unique point of view. Janelle finds a new form in a sandal, peep-toe mule and boots; the Cecyle half-moon shaped crossbody bag - named after C.F. Bally's wife - comes in quilted leather referencing a bag from the 1970's; and unexpected layering emphasizes different textures across ready-to-wear.

SS19 MEN

Man

Channeling an outlook which is equal parts Jack Kerouac, Gunter Sachs and Napoleon Dynamite, the Bally man possesses an optimistic and eager youthful mindset. Sneakers, including the Bally Champion (reissused from the 1990's), are central to his life; archival details including the Super Smash logo add subtle touches to bags and accessories; and layering contributes to a fluid silhouette with 70's-style jackets providing structure.
